Gregory Jones is a senior partner and co-founder of Edgewater Private Equity Funds. Based in Chicago, Greg served as the former CEO, co-founder, and chairman of UBid.com, a thriving online auction marketplace. During his tenure, Greg built the company’s revenue to approximately $500 million, with a highly successful IPO.
Prior to his position at UBid and Edgewater, Greg held various CEO and senior operating management positions within different companies. With a track record of success in various senior operating management roles, Greg’s dynamic leadership has propelled several companies to new heights.
Apart from his role as a senior partner, Gregory also serves on the portfolio company boards of Brilliance Technology, Premier Safety, Reflective Apparel, Flex Pack, Unitech Aerospace, and Soigen, amongst others. Greg also serves as a member of the Commercial Club of Chicago, the Chicago Commonwealth Club, and the Economic Club of Chicago.
In 1999, Greg received the Ernst & Young and the KPMG Entrepreneur of the Year awards. In 2021, he received the Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation Self Above Service Award.
Currently serving as the chairman of the board of the Northshore University Health System, Greg also contributes to the boards of Accelerate Institute, Chicago Botanic Garden, and the Council of Miami University’s Business Advisory Board. He was honored with the Leadership in Science and Education Award at the Peggy Notabaert Butterfly Ball in 2018.
